Milo’s Hamburgers plans to open its new location in Cahaba Heights this month.
According to the Vestavia Voice, the Birmingham-based burger chain’s new restaurant is planning to open in early September. It will be the 21st location for Milo’s, according to the chain’s website.
As we’ve previously reported, Milo’s will be going into a property formerly occupied by Rite Aid. Capital Growth Buchalter Inc. is redeveloping the property at the corner of Crosshaven Drive and Green Valley Road.
Milo’s is taking approximately 2,600 square feet at the approximately 10,600-square-foot property. Bryan Holt of Southpace Properties represented Milo’s in the lease.
Will Akin of Capital Growth Real Estate previously told the BBJ the firm looks to invest in properties located on prime retail corners with well-constructed buildings such as the one on Crosshaven Drive.
The company also previously purchased another former Rite Aid in Tallapoosa County for $920,000.
The project is significant for the popular Cahaba Heights area of Vestavia Hills because it is located at a prominent corner. The area could see more retail development in the coming years since it offers residents easy access to U.S. 280 as well as downtown.
