- Why did you choose to come work for Capital Growth Buchalter?
I chose to come work for Capital Growth Buchalter because Capital Growth Buchalter gave me an opportunity out of college to join their team. Along with that amazing opportunity came the trust and ability to grow within the company, and it’s been a blessing and awesome career ever since. I was finishing up at the University of Alabama in 2011 when the April 27 tornado hit Tuscaloosa, which unexpectedly was the end of college days for me. Classes and finals were canceled, and graduation was postponed a few months, and I honestly had no idea what to do at that time. I spent time back and forth between Tuscaloosa and home (Birmingham) directly after that. A good childhood family friend who was working at Capital Growth Buchalter set up an interview for me. I met the CGB team, and they offered me the opportunity to come work for them and they have been great to me ever since. - What is your role at CGB?
My role at CGB is the Director of Real Estate for our Dollar General division. I oversee a team of real estate managers on the acquisitions and site finding side of our development process for Dollar General. - What does a typical day look like for you at CGB? What occupies the majority of your time?
A typical day at CGB is managing my team and reviewing feasible sites for Dollar General development across our entire region of the US, along with managing our pipeline and goal. I spend time traveling, doing site rides, and managing the real estate submittal documents and packages for committee approval. - What’s your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of the job, I would have to say, is traveling the country to our various territories searching for real estate and being in the field.
